THE COMPLETE JOURNEY FROM SYDNEY TO SAN FRANCISCO

AUGUST 13TH, 2012 - THE DEPARTURE

On this day, a day prior to my birthday, the journey reached its official beginning. Heading to Charles Kingsford Smith international airport in Sydney, I was about to jetset off into the experience of my life, studying abroad in San Francisco for Fall 2012. Boarding the iconic red and white Qantas plane, the 15hr flight journey had begun. Flying from Sydney over the Pacific Ocean, the flight would land in Los Angeles at LAX for a connecting flight to complete the rest of the journey. Passing over the land, by the Hollywood sign, along the coast, everything was coming much closer as the anticipating grew. Given the duration of the flight, a unique experience presented itself as the clock ticked over to August 14 on board the plane marking my 21st birthday in which the captain of the plane, upon landing wished me a Happy 21st Birthday. Needless to say it was a very exciting time for me celebrating a key birthday and a new beginning, I felt like I was at the doorstep to what will be one of the best experiences of my life.
